C ride to Catforth - Frank Jones
C ride to Catforth
Good turn-out on the Cobbles with 12 riders setting off on a cool morning. Within a quarter of a mile the number had risen to an unlucky 13 as we picked up Stuart approaching Dimples Lane. After stopping to do a recount at the Kenlis we split into 2 groups to negotiate the busy road up to Inglewhite.
The group got to Roots without any problems other than losing a Keith who went home to tend to his washing! On arrival at Roots we found Will, he had found his own way to the Cafe for the second week running!
After good food and banter we left Roots minus John who went home but plus Keith who re-appeared just as we all came out. We didn’t linger as we were conscious of the fact that rain was predicted to start early in the afternoon. Four riders left us at Elswick to head back toward Preston and Tamsin went home from Gt Eccleston. By now my counting skills were becoming challenged!
The remainder managed to negotiate the bridge at Little Eccleston where the youths who take the toll never fail to amaze with their accounting skills! ( or lack of them). Clear run then back to Garstang - safe & dry.
