Saturday 4th May 2019

Eleven riders including 2 newbies, Peter & Paul, braved the chilly morning to rendezvous in Over Kellet. We promptly set off downhill towards Carnforth and were buffeted by a freezing cold wind, we were very glad to get to the town to get some shelter from the troublesome side wind.
Instead of the usual saunter to the Heron cafe we made it in record time, it was too cold to hang about talking!
The cafe was fabulous as usual, food & drinks served without delay. Due to a misunderstanding about the start time Pip and Bob joined us at staggered intervals and gave us an excuse to linger a while longer in the warm surroundings.
By the time we came out of the cafe the temperature had risen from freezing to cold! A couple of short stiff climbs soon warmed everyone up and Malcolm left us part way back to do more miles, the rest of the ride passed without drama and we all arrived safely back at Over Kellet.
