C Ride to Heysham. By Bob Raferty
C RIDE- HEYSHAM 27th January
The forecast of bad weather reflected the dismal turnout for the club ride to Heysham. Myself along with 3 other riders, Dale, Petula David Taylor, Frank Jones arrived at Millennium bridge having made good time passing through Cockerham_Glasson dock.
The rain was incessant, the roads resembling rivers in places, but the snatchers Road being extremely bad, but we were happy and enjoying the day.
The "shack on the shore" brew stop at Half Moon Bay was a welcome sight we had the place to ourselves making full use of the wood burning fire.
A great deal of mental resolve was required when the time came to leave the warm cosy surroundings of the cafe and saddle up"
